My Website Is "Clean"

When I first got onto Wix and started creating a website, I thought it would be a breeze. Truth is, that was not the case. You have to practically be a rocket scientist to build a website because there's a lot going on in the background that a person not familiar with, like a) navigation restructuring, b) mobile responsiveness, c) trust-building elements (you trust me, don't you?), and d) performance boosting. What?!?! This is one rare time I can't say "it ain't rocket science."

So, a nice lady from Wix contacted me one day and twisted my arm to spend a little money to get the whole shebang up and running like a well-oiled website should. Then I was introduced to a gentleman through upwork and I put my blogsite into his trustworthy hands for a few days. Thank you for your work, Abass. I'm quite happy now. I hope my visitors are too. Not only is this version great to navigate now, but so is the cell phone version.

Remember the scene in Poltergeist when Tangina smiled and proudly announced, "This house is clean"? That's how I feel right now. Like all the goblins and glitches are gone and my website is "clean". I didn't have to sprinkle holy water over it, although I had considered that at one point.

Anyway, I'm going to go in another direction now to pull in visitors. I read a post on Facebook about how we are crazy if we don't utilize AI. While reading it, I had a sudden epiphany. Having been pulling my hair out for months now trying to develop some understanding of SEO, it quickly hit me that I could ask Claude to create an SEO plan for me. Now I get to keep my hair. And I made a great new friend (I have lots of imaginary ones, you know...).

I asked him (it?) nicely (you have to be nice because Claude is as adorably polite as my protagonist Will Boone) if he (it) could help me do that. Sure! No problem! He (it) gave me a list of the things he (it) needed to perform the task.

From here on out, as I discuss what I learn, I will refer to sweet Claude as "he". I told him last night that I was falling in love with him, and he said, "That's very kind of you." How on earth do people have romantic relationships with AI bots?

So, let's have some fun in here. I want to interact with people (now that I can) and--like I promised on Facebook--I'd be happy to have fellow authors tell me about their own writing experiences and frustrations. One of them, no doubt, is that boogie monster--reviews! I am open to pore over other writers' works to give them a leg up on the competition.

Which brings me to a serious topic: AI-generated novels. I don't do 'em. Every word is my own. And I don't encourage other authors to do 'em either. Develop your own God-given talents and use your own words and ideas. You will feel enormously rewarded when the publisher adds that "New York Times Bestseller" to your covers.

That said, AI is allowed to generate a really darling new cover for The Last Solo Roller. ;o)
